Basically they are cracking down on tether usage. Apparently they can also do a soft-disconnect on whatever app is using data which is annoying as you have to reconnect manually constantly. Tether/Hotspot bypasses this speed limit. Now why have multiple tether apps in the first place? T-mobile/Metropcs will throttle your data even on an unlimited data plan once you hit about 30GB used. This was annoying because I could not use other tether apps unless the proxy was enabled through FoxFi, OR by disabling it manually in internet options. This would require configuring the proxy setting in your internet options and turning on the proxy manually in Foxfi on your phone. This method does not require FoxFi/Foxkey.īefore I would use FoxFi with foxkey which would use hotspot + proxy. You will need the premium version of course. Currently using it right now and getting 700KB-1MB download from my computer. Make sure the "hide tether usage" option box is checked.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to fix either PDANet or FoxFi? I've checked a few other postings online, but they are not specific to this issue and mostly refer to issues with devices connecting to the PDA or FoxFi signals, while Im having the opposite issue. Lastly, the phone internal hotspot works completely fine, and the throughput is great, but obviously limited by the 10G cap which goes pretty quickly. Alternatively I can connect to the legacy hotspot option of FoxFi and have only a 200kb transfer rate which is effectively nonexistent. The issue I'm running into is this I can connect all necessary devices (laptop, chromecast, even my person phone) to PDANet's hotspot, but PDANet is not connecting to the internet via his phones LTE signal. I've attempted to bypass this via PDANet and FoxFi/key so that he can tether his google chromecast and cast stuff to his TV.
